roots in the real world - The inspiration to
establish entrepreneurial spirit instutute came about from numerous
conversations that the directors have had with small business owners over a two
year period. A common thread in these conversations can be summed up in the
telling comment of one business owner who incidently had MBA and
Engineering degrees. 'Nothing in my business school education prepared me for
the realities of starting this business!' After two years of struggle and
financially strapped, he walked away from his business.
The statistics
are not kind for small business startups. Anyone who has survived this
journey and created a success story has knowledge that is rarely contained
in business texts. Knowledge that is of primary importance to business startups.
That's why our faculty is drawn from seasoned business professionals. Business
people who give of their experiences to help create a sound regional ecconomy
for the benefit of all. .
